ASL Yoga Retreat
Taught by: Lila Lolling
Accommodation: Cost Varies
Join Lila Lolling, founder of Deaf Yoga Foundation, for a 4-day yoga retreat presented in American Sign Language. The Sivananda Yoga Ranch has been offering classical yoga teacher training incorporating ASL as well as workshops and retreats for the deaf community and ASL interpreters since 2007. We believe Yoga and sign language pair well together. A quite popular course, it’s an excellent opportunity each year for both student and teachers to deepen their practice and to share in the joy of good community.
Join Lila Lolling and Jessica Kalyani Frank as they co-facilitate a four-day yoga retreat in American Sign Language (ASL). This retreat is a unique experience for you to dive deeper into your Self, your connection with others, and your understanding of Yoga. The daily schedule will include yoga classes, spiritual philosophy workshops, and group sharing.
This beautiful, heart-centered yoga retreat is uniquely designed for you to dedicate more time for inner reflection and spiritual investigation. If you are feeling stuck or uninspired in your life, in need of rejuvenation, or simply want to deepen your relationship with Spirit, then this retreat is for you.
Join like-minded people, who share a common language, as we join hearts and hands in an exploration of life, joy and yoga. This beautiful offering is tailored for Deaf & ASL-fluent yoga practitioners and teachers, however previous yoga experience is not required.
Lila is the founder of the DeafYoga Foundation, Saraswati Yoga School and Sangha Yoga Studio. She has been working with students who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Blind or have low vision. Over the years, Lila has been studying and incorporating techniques to adapt yoga postures from a therapeutic-based perspective for the growing number of students in need. The ASYC is her endeavor to share that knowledge with other teachers and encourage them to reach out to specialized populations with ease and confidence.
She has also worked with people who have cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism, herniated discs, and a variety of sports injuries.
