As yoga broadens its appeal, yoga teachers are finding that many students are unable to perform traditional yoga postures and pranayama due to lifestyle or overall state of well-being. It is becoming increasing clear the need for yoga teachers around the globe to modify ancient practices to suit the abilities of modern practitioners.

This comprehensive five-day certification training course will give you a multitude of tools to confidently meet the needs of each student in your class. You will learn how to joyfully create accessibility for people of all ages, and abilities, with simple and effective Hatha Yoga variations. As a course graduate, you will be able to quickly access and design a practice that offers the practitioner a heart-warming yoga experience.

This unique program provides Sivananda yoga teachers with the theory related to specific health conditions while simultaneously connecting that information to specialised asana variations. Each day you will experience an embodied anatomy class that will then be applied to the afternoon asana practice. This combination creates an efficient and effective approach to classroom assessment and adaptation.

Join us to learn how to create a safe and welcoming class for students who may be challenged by inflexibility, spinal pain/injuries, bigger bodies, and more. This certificate, presented by the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres, also earns 50 hours of continued education credits for Yoga Alliance.

The curriculum for this class includes a) Yoga for Respiratory Health – Gentle pranayama variations for soothing the nervous system and nourishing the lungs; b) Yoga for a Healthy Spines – Asana variations for students who suffer from back pain or spinal injuries; c) Prenatal Yoga – Asana and pranayama variations and guidelines for mother and child; d) Gentle Yoga – Asana variations for people with a sedentary lifestyle or stiffer body; and e)Benefits of Creating Private Yoga Classes and Gentle Yoga Group Classes.

The course tuition (listed above) is for the whole program. Your accommodation rate includes meals, Satsangs, and Hatha yoga classes which are offered daily.

Lila Lolling

Lila Lolling is a long-time Sivananda affiliate yoga instructor and spiritual teacher for nearly 20 years. She is a dedicated yoga and permaculture practitioner who has lived and taught in traditional yoga ashrams around the world. Lila is the author of Walking the Ancient Path of Yoga, founder of EcoYoga Life and DeafYoga Foundation. She is a lighthearted, honest, and sincere yoga teacher who offers all who study with her inspiration to live a life of peace, joy, and purpose. Satsang & Yoga Classes

Satsang consists of a 30-minute silent meditation, followed by 30 minutes of spiritual chanting (kirtan), and finishes with 30 minutes of spiritual lecture.
Daily attendance at both Satsangs and Hatha Yoga Classes is encouraged for your health and well-being and to maintain the proper rhythm and atmosphere of the ashram community.
