Climate change is very real. It is impacting our daily life whether we are aware of it or not. It is connected to every action that we take, every morsel of food that we eat, and every product that we purchase. As yoga practitioners, we know that our thoughts, words, and actions impact the whole. We also know the healing power of nature and natural remedies like yoga, herbs, etc. So the question remains, how can we act more responsibly in our role as Earth-stewards and deepen our connection to nature though the practices and theories of yoga?

Where do we begin? How can we be active contributors in reversing climate change?

During this 5-day theoretical and hands-on immersion, you will deeply connect with the natural world around you, and within you, through the lens of yoga. You will learn the basics of climate change and global warming as well as practical tips to do your part in reversing it.

We will discuss the need for conscious action, carbon sequestration, and food sovereignty. We will spend much of our time outside in the ashram gardens and forests learning hands-on how to read and respond to the nature that surrounds us. We will also discuss the importance of being a conscious consumer and the value of joining and/or building a local eco-yoga community. Our mother Earth needs our care and attention more than ever. And we need Her in order to heal. This retreat will connect the dots between earth-care and soul-care and the intimate connection between the two. If you love nature and yoga, then this retreat is for you!

Topics covered include:

•   Climate Change and Global Warming 101
•   Reading Nature through the Eyes of the Heart
•   Food Sovereignty and Seed Consciousness
•   Growing Food in any Environment
•   Conscious Consumerism: Understanding Desire
•   Practical Tips to an EcoYoga Life
